"Thats a wrap!" Our 2023 Summer Youth Camping Season has come to an end just as quickly as it began! We are praising the Lord for 202 registrations throughout our summer season - God is good! Please keep these campers in prayer as they take home the decisions they made for Christ!
We want to offer a big "THANK YOU!" to our 2023 Summer Staff. Each year, the Lord brings Camp an incredible group of young people and this year was no different.
We started the summer off with some vacancies in our leadership and counseling positions, but the Lord continued to provide in His timing to fill those needs. As you pray for the campers that made decisions, please don't forget to pray for our dear staff members.
Mark your calendars for our Labor Day Weekend Camp, September 1-4. There is still time to register for this family camping weekend! Pastor Nick Stelzig of Community Baptist Church in Lawrence, Mass will be here to lead us in God's Word throughout the weekend. Check-in begins at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 1. There will be a full schedule of activities for those of all ages over the entire weekend.
We will end our weekend with the annual Labor Day Barbecue. Check-in for the barbecue begins at 11:00 AM on Monday morning. We will begin the day wtih light hors d'oeuvres and coffee. There will be a chapel session immediately following lunch with Evangelist Mark Thren. We will wrap up the afternoon with an exciting game of softball for all! Our 2023 Men's Retreat is scheduled for September 15-16! Men, join us for a strengthening weekend filled with great preaching, amazing food, and sweet fellowship. By God's grace, the group of men that attend this weekend leave each year filled with a renewed passion for God's Word and His work in their lives. Pastor Sean Cowland will be bringing us to Scripture throughout the weekend.
The weekend will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 15 and will wrap up around 4:00 on Saturday afternoon. Don't hesitate to register for this weekend and encourage the men in your church and life to attend with you! This retreat is open to teenage young men as well. More detailed information will be available on the website soon - so stay tuned! We recently sent out a letter from our Board of Directors announcing our new Housing Project. The Board has unanimously agreed that it is time to pursue the building of an additional home on campus for the director's family, both present and future. When Camp was founded in 1961, there were three homes on campus for full time staff. For various reasons, the two large farm homes on the property have had to come down in the past 30 years. This has left only a small, one bedroom cape for year round housing.
We understand this is a large undertaking, and we are fully trusting the Lord for financial, material, and physical provision. There will be an 'official announcement' given during our Labor Day Barbecue with several details released at that time. There is always a large list of projects to be completed here at Camp. Though the season has come to an end, the work has not stopped! If you would like to donate time, material, or financially to these projects, please reach out to our Facilities Manager, Chris McNally at maintenance@campnorthfield.com.
The next big project we will be tackling is replacing the roof on the garage of the current Director's home.
