Good old memories. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of camp in the mid-90’s. The lodge is looking great. Maybe I’ll drive by the next time I’m in New England. I have a daughter that is about to turn 1 year old, I’m sure she’ll be going to camp when she reaches age.
God Bless,
Jay
Great site. I came to Camp Northfield the first time in 1969 as a 9 year old. Loved all the pictures. If you have any from the 60 laying around, it would sure be great to see them. Nice to see Larry Hilliker in a few of the 70s pics. Karen H gave me my first swimming lesson. Makes me want to come back and visit.
I noticed an alumni outing for former staff and thought it would be a great idea to have a reunion of campers from the 60’s (or any decade). I was a camper from the first year until 1969. I remember Mr Hopewell, Mr Mel Keene, Claud Egelston (speaker), and Mr Hilliker. (I attended college with his daughters). I have wonderful memories. Mrs Hilliker probably still has the slides of pictures taken during those years that someone could convert to prints and upload. Mr Hilliker used to show them in church services during the winter when he came to my home church to speak (First Baptist Church - Enfield) I remember counselor hunts and overnight campouts where we hiked out to an area near a reservoir.
Love the pictures. Miss camp, the quietness, the noise, the steeple on the church and Sunday morning exercises (only Sunday Mornings). Miss Amy and Dave too. I started attended camp since I was 8 years old and worked there in the 70’s. Got up there a few years ago, brought my hubby who couldn’t get over the beautiful. All is well in O.K. with the kids and grandchildren at our feet. God is good. Love, Breng
Hey Chief, just wondering if you had any pictures form Jr. High Week 2008? Because that’s the only week you don’t pictures of. Just wondering. Camp was a blast this year! I can’t wait to come back next year! See you soon.

My mother, Clara E. Barrows Hollingworth, attended camp at Northfield in 1917 or ‘18. A grade school teacher at the time, she had what she called her “Mountain-top” experience where she felt led to serve the Lord as a missionary. She went on to Gordon College, graduated in 1922, and was sent by the WABFMS to Burma, and was there about ten years. In 1928, she married Sidney Hollingorth, another Baptist missionary. I have a picture of her in the summer of 1928 at Northfield with the caption “Our councilor at Northfield, ‘28.” Would you be interested in seeing the picture. There are tents in the background!
